One Million Lightbulbs
One Million Light Bulbs is an initiative designed to educate and inspire communities on energy efficiency and sustainability by enacting a plan to change one million inefficient light bulbs with LEDs.
OUR MISSION
One Million Light Bulbs is a universal movement to advance the state of the eco-consciousness, inspiring millions to take just one little step towards this goal. We’re challenging each and every person, business, and organization to change just one light bulb from incandescent to LED.
One Million Light Bulbs will promote environmental sustainability, connect communities, and create empathetic environmentalists. We want to create the start line by exchanging one million inefficient light bulbs with one million LEDs as we work toward eliminating inefficient bulbs in 2020.

INEFFICIENT BULBS
Out with the old
INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULBS
Last a little over a year, are easily broken, and are not energy efficient. These bulbs are set to one color temperature and, at most, are dimmable.
HALOGEN LIGHT BULBS
Usually burn out after 9-12 months of common use and only give a narrow angle of light compared to similar LED bulbs.
INCANDESCENT STRING LIGHTS
Can cause fires in the home and are known to have multiple bulbs burn out leaving dim decoration.
FLUORESCENT TUBE LIGHTS
Vary in length, but they require more installation and must be replaced often. If installed incorrectly, the lights may flicker and even take a while to warm up.
LED BULBS
In with the new
STANDARD LED BULBS
Efficiently illuminate any space. They can change to a variety of colors and are best for lamps, hallways, and any other common light fixtures.
FLOOD LED BULBS
Allow for a focused, wide stream of light. These bulbs are best used to illuminate exterior spaces.
EDISON LED BULBS
Are designed to create warm ambience and are best suited with an ornate fixture. These versatile bulbs can be used for interior or exterior spaces.
LED GLOBE BULBS
Spread light in every direction, making them perfect for bathrooms, vanities, and rooms with a pendant light.
